Hello! My name is Melissa, I am a mom, a wife, a nurse and nuts about quilting. My aunt taught me how to quilt about 12 years ago, after my failed attempts at garment sewing, and I have been enjoying sewing ever since! A few years ago, my good friend Eve a sewer but never quilter caught the quilting bug, and I have been enjoying talking and sharing quilting plans and having sewing days. I love sharing my excitement for projects with people who share my interest. I love taking classes, retreats, quilt alongs, following quilters on Instagram and making friends through quilting! I have admired the original Dear Jane® as well as more modern Baby Janes for awhile now and when Eve mentioned her interest in making a Dear Jane® quilt, I began searching for the book by Brenda Papaidakis. I hit the lottery when I found a book in a quilt shop and when I inquired, low and behold, they had a second book in the back!!!!! I am super pumped up to start this quilt and to build a community of quilters doing the same quilt! We missed out on the Paper Pieces quilt along that started in 2017 and, so, we thought why not start our own quilt along?! While I have never run a quilt along we are excited to learn as we go. Thanks for joining our little experiment!

Greeting Quilters! I am also a mum and wife. In my professional life, I am a high school teacher in Southern Ontario, Canada. I teach Art and Family Studies at the high school level in both in English and French. As a Family Studies teacher, I teach sewing, which I have been doing for most of my life. In 2016, Melissa made it her mission to get me into quilting and I totally blame her for my new obsession with it! I enjoy learning new things and I love a challenge! Last summer, Melissa and I completed the “100 Days 100 Blocks” Challenge on Instagram with Gnome Angel, and I learned that I loved doing sampler quilts and sew-alongs, therefore, when I discovered the Dear Jane® quilt, I just had to do it! Melissa and I have known each other since we were 12 years old, and it is so awesome to have someone to share the love of craft with!
